At Quinte Ortho we can provide you with either a traditional shoulder immobilizer or a shoulder abduction sling depending on your particular injury. The shoulder immobilizer is the most common as it holds your arm in close to your body and if set up correctly can be very comfortable and relaxing for a painful shoulder. A shoulder abduction sling is used after surgical repairs of the shoulder. They keep the shoulder resting slightly away from the body to allow proper healing of the repaired tissues.
