Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

Pelvic Physiotherapy is a branch of physiotherapy conducted by physiotherapists who have completed advanced training in the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction.

These dysfunctions can include, persistent low back/ hip/ pelvic pain, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, as well as pre and post-natal changes. Pelvic floor dysfunction means that the muscles of your pelvic floor are either too weak (hypotonic) or too tight (hypertonic), or a combination of both.

Your pelvic health physiotherapist will examine your low back, pelvis, hips and factors contributing to your dysfunction, and work with you to develop an appropriate plan of treatment.
