Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine
Dr. Andrew Pickle brings extensive expertise in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine to the Quinte region. He completed his Medical Degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland, followed by an Orthopaedic Surgery residency at McGill University. He then pursued subspecialty training with a fellowship in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at the University of Ottawa under the mentorship of Dr. Don Johnson. In the same year, Dr. Pickle earned his Diploma of Sports Medicine from the Canadian Association of Sports Medicine (CASM).
Dedicated to education and mentorship, Dr. Pickle was recognized as McGill’s Orthopaedic Program and Department of Surgery Resident Teacher of the Year during his time as chief resident. As a staff surgeon at Quinte Health Care, he continues to share his knowledge through Continuing Medical Education (CME) talks and has twice served as an instructor at the Master’s Knee Course at the AANA Learning Center in Chicago. His academic contributions include peer-reviewed publications and authoring a textbook chapter on Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries in Practical Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy.
Dr. Pickle’s clinical interests include hip and knee arthroplasty, complex knee and shoulder reconstruction, and the treatment of sports-related injuries. Since beginning his practice in Belleville, he has served as the team physician for the Belleville Bulls and remains actively involved in multiple national and international orthopaedic and sports medicine associations.
